In the old playground game the clock is a person. What time is it, Mr Wolf? Three o'clock - three steps forward. Dinner time - run. The hour arrives as a voice over the noise of the yard, and no player in that game has ever needed a watch.
Intertakt times interval training on that arrangement: every HIIT, Tabata and EMOM round is called by voice cues and countdown beeps over your own playlist, each channel at its own volume. The phone goes face-down or into a pocket from the first beep and stays there - step while the wolf's back is turned, breathe when it turns around.
A call or an app switch mid-round is a stumble, not a forfeit: the round holds and the session resumes from the exact second it stopped.
